how much
abuse
we put our sight through
shutting off
everyone
who misses our benchmark of decency
how little
use
we put our hearts to
numbing it with
senses
that will fail the test of time
for if to suffer
a veiling of foolish sight
and yet be able to see all that
the windows of prejudice
have blinded us from
how insignificant then is the loss
of self-created barriers
to beauty and possibilities
in this world of imperfection.
