Sigh. Having a test on Semantics and Pragmatics tomorrow and it totally spoils my long weekend! :( arrgh. i know there are some stuff i have to revise again but the reluctance and inertia are so strong. This all feels very unsettling. Am so not looking forward to tomorrow! the first test of the semester. Quite significant i guess. It sort of sets the standards for the many tests i will be having. Three this month, to be precise. The other two are for discourse structure and my breadth module on complementary medicine.

i am quite worried about english tests, though learning about the subject can get really exciting. As i am typing, i am actually taking note of the pronouns and seeing the elang phenomena at work! wow. haha, is this called occupational syndrome or something like that? English is tough in that you know the answer and yet it is immensely difficult to explain how the answer is derived. More often than not, we take the language and communication for granted and never really understand how incrediblely complex a simple conversation actually is.

My command of English has never been great or respectable, in fact my grades for the subject were quite horrendous. But elang is not about paragraph-y stuff, it is actually a science subject. there are frequently data analysis and even formulae involving functions and equations. Wierd! It can get very technical. guess this is the kind of subject that people can decide whether they love or hate it after a brief encounter. Most of my friends hated i, but it is enjoyable to me so far. Phew.

Just had golf lesson yesterday and my body is aching from all that swinging! But i am loving the game to bits. The satisfaction is immense when you hear the iron hitting the ball with a light and bright sound that goes something like "tok"! and then you see the ball flying across the field. The experienced golfers can really send the ball flying and flying till a 'wow' height and sometimes you can even lose sight of it! Amazing. it's such a clean sport :) very refreshing to just look at a large patch of green green grass, therapeutic after a stressful day in school!

And thanks to you for being a very significant part of the motivation for my taking up of this wonderful sport. must say it was quite an splurge. But it turned out that the game itself is appealing enough to partially justify everything that i thought was done only for the sake of your acquaintance. for a starting point for our conversations, or just simply something in common.

But i am glad, and quite relieved, to slowly discover that we have much more other things to share and talk about :)
