V-day.
a pretty quiet affair.
it had to fall on a monday.
with my child language test and your tuts the next day.
not good. not good at all.
so we met on Sunday.
our plan did not manage to pull through
your heavy bags, my unpunctuality and the weather.
and thus lunch with few words and some notes
i read with false interest and urgency.
trudged back to hall to face more work.
the day finally came
with a silent plead disguised as a hushed reminder.
overdue salad and forgotten sweets.
"it is just a normal day. chosen to make silly people spend $$ "
i thought to myself again and again.
i hate to realise that i have been bought into the total v-day crap
to think that our day was just wrong.
perhaps it was our first
and i wanted it to be a day
we can look back and smile at the craziness of youth.
yet all i felt was a fatigue of someone who has looked past
the miracles that being together promised.
